Professionally fully reconditioned helical gearbox, rebuilt using quality components and designed to deliver reliable performance for your Classic Mini.
Each gearbox is completely dismantled, inspected, and rebuilt with new components where required. Worn or damaged gears are replaced, and no unsuitable or defective parts are reused during the rebuilding process.
Fitted with a 3.2:1 final drive ratio, this gearbox is ideal for many 1275cc road applications, offering an excellent balance between acceleration and cruising performance.

Warranty
- 6-month warranty covering replacement parts only
- Labour is not covered under warranty
Important: If a third-party workshop is installing the gearbox, please ensure they are aware that labour costs are not covered under the warranty.
Exchange Information
This gearbox is supplied on an exchange basis.
Your exchange gearbox must:
- Be an A-Plus gearbox
- Be fully serviceable
- Have no damage to the transmission casing, particularly around the idler gear housing
- Be supplied with the required final drive ratio
- Be completely drained of oil
- Be externally cleaned prior to return
A surcharge applies to encourage exchange at the time of purchase. This amount is refunded upon receipt and inspection of a suitable exchange gearbox.
If your exchange gearbox is unsuitable or has a different final drive ratio than ordered, additional charges may apply unless prior arrangements have been made.

- Exchange units must match the gearbox ratio ordered unless otherwise agreed
Final Drive Identification Guide
If you're unsure which differential ratio your existing gearbox has, count the teeth on the pinion gear:
- 18 teeth = 3.44:1
- 19 teeth / 59-tooth crown wheel = 3.10:1 (many 998cc and carburetted 1275cc Minis)
- 19 teeth / 61-tooth crown wheel = 3.20:1 (SPI 1275cc models, excluding MPI)
- 20 teeth = 2.90:1 (economy ratio fitted to some 998cc and later models)
- 21 teeth = 2.76:1 (MPI models – special exchange only)
