Professionally fully reconditioned helical gearbox, rebuilt using high-quality components to provide reliable performance and long service life for your Classic Mini.
 
This gearbox is fitted with a 2.76:1 final drive ratio, as used on MPI (Multi-Point Injection) Mini models, while retaining the standard A-Plus gearset rather than the MPI gearset.
 
This combination offers relaxed cruising with lower engine RPM at highway speeds while maintaining the proven reliability of the A-Plus transmission.
 
Every gearbox is completely dismantled, thoroughly inspected, and rebuilt using quality components.
 
Worn or damaged gears are replaced, and no substandard or defective parts are reused.

Important: If the gearbox is installed by a third-party workshop, labour costs associated with removal or refitting are not covered under warranty.
 
Exchange Information
This gearbox is supplied on an exchange basis.
 
Your exchange gearbox must:
Be an A-Plus gearbox
Be fully serviceable
Have no damage to the transmission casing, particularly around the idler gear housing
Be supplied with the required final drive ratio
Be completely drained of oil
Be externally cleaned prior to return
 
Exchange units must match the gearbox ratio ordered unless alternative arrangements have been agreed prior to purchase.
 
A surcharge applies to encourage exchange at the time of purchase and is refunded once a suitable exchange gearbox has been received and inspected.
 
If your exchange gearbox is unsuitable or fitted with a different final drive ratio than required, additional charges may apply.

If you're unsure which differential ratio your gearbox has, count the teeth on the pinion gear:
18 teeth = 3.44:1
19 teeth / 59-tooth crown wheel = 3.10:1 (many 998cc and carburetted 1275cc Minis)
19 teeth / 61-tooth crown wheel = 3.20:1 (SPI 1275cc models, excluding MPI)
20 teeth = 2.90:1 (economy ratio fitted to some 998cc and later models)
21 teeth = 2.76:1 (MPI models – special exchange only)
