Protect your Classic Mini's engine-bay electrical components with this genuine large plastic engine electrical splash shield, supplied with the fittings and brackets required for installation.
 
Designed to provide a protective barrier around vulnerable engine electrical components, the shield helps reduce direct exposure to water, road spray, dirt and debris entering the engine bay.

Mounting Arrangement
The kit uses two upper brackets and one lower mounting bracket.
The two upper brackets fit onto the rocker cover retaining nuts.
The lower bracket mounts at the gearbox, with the square fastener hole positioned towards the oil-filter side.
 
Correct orientation of this lower bracket is important for proper shield alignment.
Lower Bracket Installation
Installation of the lower mounting bracket requires removal of two gearbox-to-engine bolts.
There are five bolts in the relevant area. To establish the correct bracket position:
Begin with the middle bolt. Removing this first allows you to identify where the lower bracket needs to sit.
The second bolt required is the one to the left of the middle bolt, towards the starter motor.
 
Position the bracket with its square fastener hole facing towards the oil-filter side.
Once the bracket position has been confirmed, install and secure the mounting hardware correctly.
 
Important Installation Note
Only remove the gearbox-to-engine bolts required for installation and ensure all fasteners are correctly refitted and tightened to the appropriate specification.
 
If you are unfamiliar with the engine-to-gearbox mounting arrangement, installation should be carried out by an experienced Classic Mini technician.
