This correct flat top brake master cylinder is designed specifically for pre 1965 Cooper S models. While originally featuring either a removable union or a small hexagonal nut shape machined into the top, this version adapts by allowing the pipe to go directly into the flat top as per normal, with a period-correct outlet.
