This early 0.75" bore brake master cylinder was originally used on applicable Minis from approximately 1959 to 1963, including vehicles equipped with:
Drum brakes with a single front wheel cylinder per wheel
Early single-line hydraulic brake systems
Applicable 997 Cooper models
997 Cooper applications using a brake booster/servo valve and 7" front disc brakes
 
Period-Correct Design
The original versions of this master cylinder featured a traditional metal reservoir arrangement. Depending on the original specification, the top incorporated a removable union-style fitting with a nut-shaped appearance.
 
This distinctive construction makes the tin-tank master cylinder particularly desirable for early Mini restorations where maintaining the correct period appearance is important.
