Sydney Aquarium

   Located in the heart Sydney in Darling Harbour the Sea Life Sydney Aquarium was build and opened in 1988 during Australian bicentenary celebrations.


  Sydney Aquarium is one the of the world's largest aquariums. It has over 700 different species and almost 13,000 animals in an amazing 6 million liters of water. 


  Take the family and kids to see some of the world's largest variety of sharks and sea rays, including Australia's most famed marine animals. Be ready to take photos of Australian platypus, not to forget the little penguins and the popular dugongs.


  In 24 years of existence it took 9 months and AU$10 million for Sydney Aquarium to get a face lift. With an extra 1.5 million litres of water added it is the biggest refurbishment for the oceanarium.


  Visit the new Sea Life Sydney Aquarium and you will go on a journey to see the widest range of marine creatures and an Australian distinct freshwater and marine environments.


Sydney Aquarium was designed by Australian architects to create and resemble a large wave. It wook almost 2 years to build it.
   
   Today the Sea Life Sydney Aquarium is one the premier tourist attractions in Sydney with more than 55 percent of it's visitors arriving from overseas. 

 

 


 

   Sea Life Sydney Aquarium is open from

9am-8pm daily, last entry at 7pm. It is located in 

Darling Harbour, and only a short 15 minutes walk from Sydney Town Hall Station.
